I am not asking for a political opinion. I am asking for a biological opinion as to why all the Ponderosa Pines are being killed in Arizona. Is that clear?

embroidery fan asked:

I have a Blue Spruce tree in my front yard. It’s about 15 years old. This year, for the first time, I’ve noticed rust-colored branches occurring throughout it. Do you have any idea of the cause(s) of it, or any treatment(s) I should use?

Thanks for your help!

The has been accounts of this species of hardy palms growing in Canada and, more commonly, Switzerland. I wanted to replace the pine trees in my front yard with them.

My details: 1) The spots are either under or near trees that are 20+ years old 2) lots of tiny, tiny (web-like) surface roots are in these bare spots 3) no pets to cause problems 4) lawn is self-irrigated 5) trees have recently been trimmed by a professional arborist to allow light to come through to lawn 6) the rest of the lawn is healthy and thriving 7) a fertilizer company puts 5 lawn treatments on my yard each season 8) these bare spots are growing larger each season and I want to stop this. Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Two or three died, but most lived but most have bark peeling off at ground level to half way up trunks…trees are mostly water oaks, mostly mature, some 30 to 40 feet tall. The bark peel worries me because it was symtomatic of the ones that eventually died…but the ones that made it are hanging on..they look o.k. and leaves are healthy…the ones that died, died quick..Should I do anything to the trees that are peeling bark?

I thought real trees were supposed to smell great. BUT this tree really has no smell unless u get real close and take a whif of the branches…just curious as to why? We bought it from our neighborhood garden mill.
